Princess Charlotte Celebrates Eighth Birthday with a New Portrait
A photograph of Princess Charlotte taken by her mother has been released on the eve of her eighth.
The photo shows the young princess smiling and wearing a blue dress.
The photograph was taken by the Duchess of Cambridge on April 29 at Kensington Palace.
Princess Charlotte was born on May 2, 2015, and is the second child of Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge.
She is fourth in line to the British throne, after her grandfather, Prince Charles; her father, Prince William; and her older brother, Prince George.
Charlotte is known for her outgoing personality and her love of horses.
She has also been praised for her fashion sense, and her outfits often sell out within hours of her being photographed wearing them.
