Indiana Hoosiers Football Announces Home-And-Home Series With Western Illinois

Hoosiers to Face Leathernecks in 2024 and 2025

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana University Athletics announced today a home-and-home football series with Western Illinois University for the 2024 and 2025 seasons. The Hoosiers will host the Leathernecks at Memorial Stadium in Bloomington, Ind., on Sept. 7, 2024, and travel to Macomb, Ill., to face Western Illinois on Sept. 6, 2025.

Series History

This will be the first meeting between the two schools on the gridiron. Indiana is 3-1 all-time against current members of the Missouri Valley Football Conference, including a 41-20 victory over Illinois State in 2016, a 38-21 win over Southern Illinois in 2017, and a 24-0 shutout of Ball State in 2019. The Hoosiers' only loss to an MVFC opponent came in 2013 when they fell to Northern Iowa, 34-32.

2023 Schedule

The Hoosiers open the 2023 season at home against Ball State on Sept. 2 before traveling to Idaho on Sept. 9. Indiana then returns home to face Charlotte on Sept. 16 before opening Big Ten play at Rutgers on Sept. 23. The Hoosiers host Michigan State on Sept. 30 before traveling to Maryland on Oct. 7. Indiana's bye week is Oct. 14, followed by a road game at Purdue on Oct. 21. The Hoosiers host Penn State on Oct. 28 before traveling to Michigan on Nov. 4. Indiana closes out the regular season at home against Ohio State on Nov. 11.
